Position Summary

The Virginia State Inspector Technician is responsible for performing state-mandated safety inspections and routine vehicle maintenance in compliance with Virginia laws and company standards. The role involves conducting inspections, diagnosing issues, completing repairs, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring customer satisfaction. The technician must demonstrate professionalism, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform Virginia State Safety Inspections according to state regulations
  • Conduct routine maintenance and necessary repairs on customer vehicles
  • Maintain accurate and compliant inspection and repair documentation
  • Ensure the shop is clean, organized, and safe; assist with inventory management
  • Follow company policies, safety procedures, and environmental guidelines
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and continuous education programs
  • Complete additional duties as assigned

  • Valid Virginia State Inspection License (required)
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid, unrestricted driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Professional, dependable, and safety-conscious work ethic
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to read and follow instructions clearly
  • Basic computer and internet proficiency
  • Physical ability to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed
  • Previous automotive repair or inspection experience preferred
