Position Summary

The Service Advisor is the primary point of contact between customers and automotive technicians. This role requires clear and effective communication to understand customer concerns, schedule repairs, and manage expectations for service delivery. The Service Advisor ensures customers are well informed about necessary repairs and recommended maintenance while coordinating quality service that meets company standards.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule vehicle service appointments in person or by phone, ensuring timely diagnosis and repair
  • Maintain clear communication with customers regarding repair status, delays, and any updated estimates requiring authorization
  • Provide repair and maintenance recommendations tailored to customer needs
  • Coordinate repair delivery and set accurate customer expectations
  • Verify completion of repairs through quality control checks and test drives as needed
  • Stay current on vehicle operations, warranties, service campaigns, Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs), and applicable state regulations
  • Achieve or exceed all service level targets
  • Complete required documentation accurately and comply with company policies and regulatory standards
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures
  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and continued education as required
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

  • At least one year of experience in a dealership or large automotive service facility preferred
  • Valid, unrestricted driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Professional appearance and reliable work ethic
  • Strong safety awareness and customer service focus
  • Basic computer and internet proficiency
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to read and follow instructions accurately
  • Physical ability to bend, kneel, squat, stand for extended periods, and lift heavy objects as needed
