Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Dealership Accounting Clerk to maintain accurate financial records and ensure timely processing of accounting and payroll tasks. This role involves managing accounts receivable and payable, bank reconciliations, payroll tax compliance, and providing support for customer and vendor transactions within dealership management systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain an organized and accurate accounting system.
  • Receive, reconcile, and process vendor invoices promptly.
  • Prepare customer invoices and credit batches accurately.
  • Reconcile daily cash deposits and oversee petty cash.
  • Prepare accounts payable checks and post open items daily.
  • Reconcile statements and ledgers, ensuring timely payments.
  • Assist customers and banks with refunds and cancellations.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting and tax filings.
  • Maintain updated accounts receivable and accounts payable files.
  • Provide administrative support including answering phones, data entry, filing, and record keeping.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and educational sessions.
  • Perform additional duties to support dealership operations as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Experience in dealership accounting or general office functions preferred.
  • Familiarity with Reynolds and Reynolds system is a plus.
  • College degree in Accounting or Business Administration preferred.
  • At least one year of general accounting experience within a business office setting.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Effective time management and accurate data entry skills.
  • Professional and reliable work ethic.
