Position Summary

The Automotive Service Advisor serves as the key communication link between customers and technicians regarding vehicle service and repair needs. This role requires listening carefully to customer concerns, scheduling service appointments, providing clear explanations of recommended repairs, and managing customer expectations throughout the service process.

The ideal candidate will have a strong customer service focus, technical knowledge, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule service appointments in person or by phone to ensure timely and accurate diagnosis of vehicle issues
  • Communicate repair status updates to customers and obtain authorization for additional repairs or revised estimates
  • Recommend necessary and optional repairs or maintenance based on vehicle condition and manufacturer guidelines
  • Ensure all repaired vehicles pass quality control checks and road tests before delivery
  • Stay informed about vehicle operations, warranties, recall campaigns, state laws, and Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs)
  • Meet or exceed service level targets consistently
  • Complete required documentation accurately and in compliance with regulations
  • Follow all safety policies and enforce workplace safety standards
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and educational classes as required
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Work Environment and Schedule

This is a full-time, in-person position located at our Michigan City facility. The role requires a professional appearance and the ability to work collaboratively within a team-focused environment.

Job Requirements:

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least one year of experience in a dealer-level service advisor or similar large facility environment preferred
  • Valid, unrestricted driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Professional and dependable work ethic
  • Basic computer and internet proficiency
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions
  • Ability to bend, kneel, squat, stand for extended periods, and lift heavy objects as needed
  • Safety-conscious and committed to workplace policies
