Position Summary

As an Automotive Service Advisor, you will serve as the key communicator between customers and technicians regarding automotive service and repairs. You will listen carefully to customers, arrange for appropriate services, and manage expectations about service delivery. This role requires clear communication of repair needs and recommendations to customers, ensuring high-quality service and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule service appointments with customers, managing inquiries in person or by phone to diagnose vehicle issues accurately.
  • Follow up on repair status, ensuring vehicles are ready on time and notify customers promptly if delays occur. Obtain authorization for revised repair estimates.
  • Provide repair recommendations and set realistic expectations for customers regarding repair timelines and outcomes.
  • Ensure completed repairs pass quality control checks, including road tests as needed.
  • Stay informed on vehicle operations, warranties, manufacturer campaigns, Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs), and relevant state regulations.
  • Meet or exceed all service level targets.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant documentation in accordance with regulations and company standards.
  • Adhere to and enforce all safety policies and procedures.
  • Participate in all required staff meetings, training sessions, and educational programs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support efficient service department operations.

Job Requirements:

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum one year of experience at a dealer-level or large automotive facility preferred
  • Valid, unrestricted driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Professional appearance and dependable work ethic
  • Focus on customer service and safety
  • Basic computer and internet proficiency
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to comprehend and follow instructions accurately
  • Physical ability to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as required
