Position Summary

The Automotive Service Advisor acts as the key communicator between customers and service technicians, managing automotive service and repair processes. This role involves listening to customer concerns, coordinating accurate service appointments, delivering repair recommendations, and managing expectations throughout the repair process.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule service appointments for customers in person or by phone to ensure timely and accurate vehicle diagnostics
  • Follow up on repair status and inform customers of any delays or changes
  • Obtain customer authorization for repair estimate updates
  • Provide repair recommendations and manage customer expectations regarding service delivery
  • Ensure all completed repairs pass quality control and road testing
  • Stay informed on vehicle operation, warranties, recalls, Technical Service Bulletins, and relevant regulations
  • Maintain compliance with documentation, safety policies, and company standards
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development as required
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support dealership operations

Job Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • At least one year of experience at a dealer-level or large automotive facility preferred
  • Valid, unrestricted driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Basic computer and internet proficiency
  • Professional appearance and dependable work ethic
  • Ability to read and understand instructions accurately
  • Ability to bend, kneel, squat, stand for extended periods, and lift heavy objects as needed
  • Commitment to safety and regulatory compliance
