Position Overview

The Automotive Service Advisor acts as the primary liaison between customers and technicians for automotive service and repair needs. This role involves understanding customer concerns, coordinating service appointments, and managing expectations regarding service delivery and repair recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule service appointments in person or by phone, ensuring accurate diagnosis and timely service
  • Communicate repair status to customers and update them if timelines change
  • Recommend necessary and additional maintenance or repairs
  • Coordinate repair delivery by managing customer expectations
  • Verify completed repairs through quality control or road tests
  • Stay informed about vehicle operations, warranties, service campaigns, and regulations including Technical Service Bulletins (TSB) and lemon laws
  • Meet or exceed service level targets
  • Ensure documentation compliance with industry standards and regulations
  • Adhere to and enforce company safety policies and procedures
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management

Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least one year of experience at a dealer-level service facility or large automotive center preferred
  • Valid, unrestricted driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Professional and dependable work ethic
  • Customer service and safety focused
  • Basic computer and internet proficiency
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Professional appearance
  • Ability to read and understand instructions
  • Physical ability to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as required
