Position Summary

The Automotive Service Advisor serves as the primary communication link between customers and automotive technicians. You will identify customer needs, schedule and coordinate vehicle services, provide repair recommendations, and set expectations that support excellent customer experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule vehicle service appointments by phone or in person, ensuring accurate and timely diagnosis of issues.
  • Communicate repair status updates to customers, including delays or changes, and obtain authorization for revised repair estimates.
  • Recommend repairs and maintenance based on vehicle condition and customer needs while managing delivery expectations.
  • Confirm all repairs pass quality control and road tests before customer delivery.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of vehicle operations, warranties, manufacturer campaigns, Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs), and relevant regulations.
  • Meet or exceed service level goals and compliance requirements.
  • Complete required documentation accurately and comply with safety policies and procedures.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and development programs as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support dealership operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum one year of experience at a dealership or large automotive service facility preferred
  • Valid and unrestricted driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Professional appearance and dependable work ethic
  • Safety-conscious and customer service oriented
  • Basic computer and internet skills
  • Ability to read and comprehend written instructions
  • Physical ability to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed
